About
Invest in the commercialisation of OBIS FC – a next-generation fuel-cell condition monitoring technology developed in South Africa.
ZAZAR Labs is seeking strategic investment to commercialise Optimized Broadband Impedance Spectroscopy (OBIS FC), a patented technology developed by ZAZAR Labs.
OBIS FC addresses a key challenge in fuel-cell deployment: obtaining detailed, rapid diagnostic information while the fuel-cell system is operating. Conventional Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) is typically used for detailed diagnostic analysis but often requires offline operation and much longer measurement times. OBIS FC has demonstrated impedance measurement capability in approximately 1 second, compared with approximately 60 seconds for conventional EIS, while providing a pathway for online condition monitoring.
The technology uses multiple superimposed broadband waveforms and analyses the resulting impedance response to provide information on the condition and performance of a fuel-cell stack. The system is designed to be non-invasive and capable of providing condition information while the fuel-cell system remains operational.
