The Strategic Economy

The Strategic Economy is a strategic advisory firm incorporated in England and Wales and led by Oliver Scheidt. The firm specialises in economic strategy, investment facilitation, government engagement and international partnerships, connecting businesses, investors and institutions to deliver commercially viable projects with lasting economic and social impact. Oliver Scheidt is a Namibian-born international trade and investment adviser with extensive experience working across Africa and the United Kingdom. Prior to founding The Strategic Economy, he served as Chief of Staff to Lord Dolar Popat. In that role, he worked closely with governments, development finance institutions and the private sector to strengthen UK–Africa trade and investment relations. He organised high-level investment forums, trade missions and ministerial engagements, supporting strategic partnerships across Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo in sectors including infrastructure, energy, mining, agriculture, healthcare and financial services. Through this work, he developed an extensive network of senior government officials, investors, business leaders and development partners across Africa and the United Kingdom. Today, The Strategic Economy builds on these relationships to connect African governments and businesses with international investors, institutions and strategic partners, with a particular focus on sustainable investment, economic transformation and long-term development impact.
